Since Animazement is really my first official time going to a con for anything geeky, there’s a few things I learned…
PONIES ARE EVERYWHERE

There were like at least 80, if not more people cosplaying as ponies. I never expected this many to be in NC. Most of them weren’t even a part of the NC bronies group as far as I’m aware.
Homestuck is a thing
Apparently Homestuck is an even bigger thing than ponies, I think I saw more trolls than ponies, and that sort of infuriates me. It’s not even a show! It’s a webcomic! Dafuq man? People still haven’t been able to explain the appeal to me.
(Pokemon is still bigger than everything though, yay)
Non-professional panels suck
There was this one panel called “How to Train Your Pokemon” and I was assuming it would be about the games and such, but nope, they were just messing around with people cosplaying as Pokemon, and it wasn’t even the good cosplayers they were using.
Cosplayers sometimes really get into character
There was this zombie that was like, really convincing, and scared people and shit. There was also a heartless that attacked my friend Hirosashii after he started humming the battle theme. There was also an Ezio that shanked me. I played along and started falling over.
Cosplayers can sometimes be really good/unique and you’ll want a picture taken with them

Bring lots of money
There will be a lot of stuff that you might want to buy. I just got a few buttons and stuff, but there was so much more that I wanted. (There wasn’t anything of Dragonair suprisingly, I was looking for a Dragonair hat because I saw a bunch of other Pokemon hats, but one vendor gave me their card and said they’d commission one for me.)
Here’s the stuff I bought:

(Hirosashii gave me the Twilight badge when I arrived, didn’t buy that.)
Remember where you parked
I forgot which parking deck I went in when I arrived and had to have Hirosashii help me find it. :c
Overall, I had a lot of fun. It was my first con and I hope to go to Animazement again next year!
