WOOHOO! Thank you SO much to the people who have pledged! :D
There’s still 8 more days left until the Kickstarter fund ends, so if you still want to help out or if you want one of the rewards, now’s your chance! There’s a limit to the physical rewards but if you donate even a dollar you’ll be in the credits of the film!
Saberspark and I will be working on this all summer with as much effort as we can put into it.
Right now I’m not sure what to think about the commercial, the changes are good, and the fact that they’re giving to charities is good, but… just…
Man…
I asked Michael Brockhoff about helping me out with advertising the campaign for the project since we’ll be meeting at BronyCon and he said this:
Paleo,
I was contacted by somebody yesterday regarding this issue. Honestly, I just don’t feel comfortable promoting your project via ours. Not that it won’t be great or that we don’t wish you well. We just don’t know you or the quality your work or feel like we are in any kind of position to endorse your content. The promotion that really worked for us was the postings on Equestria Daily and other fan sites. Most of our traffic came from that. I’m sure if your project content is interesting and respectful, the community will support it and you will do just fine.
Best, Mike
Hrm… that’s a bit of a problem with this fandom, most of the traffic for anything comes from EqD, but they can be choosy. FiMFlamFilosophy had to make a joke about EqD’s posts to get featured. EqD doesn’t even seem to post as often as they used to. What is the staff there doing?
I really hope Mike’s right about that last part in his message…
Sigh… hurry up and get past 10,000 subs Saber, then EqD will HAVE to pay attention to us. Maybe…
If we actually pull this off, this might be the best summer ever!
The two films seem like they’re going to be very different. The one that John de Lancie is doing is a bit more from an outsider’s perspective since he’s just getting into this. The one Saberspark and I are doing will be covering all bases and going a bit more in depth with the sociological aspects like Saber has stated before.
By the way, our documentary will be uploaded to youtube once it is done, so if you’re worried about not being able to see it, don’t worry, it’ll be free to view for everyone. The DVDs will have some bonus footage, but that might be uploaded much later down the line.
We appreciate all the help you all have given us so far and we’re glad to have you as an attentive audience, we couldn’t have made it this far without you. Thank you.
So um…
I messaged these guys about meeting up at BronyCon and they said yes!
Michael Brockhoff, the guy heading the thing, just said to e-mail him a few days before the con so we can set up a time.
